"Flat feet" is a phrase that's used extensively to describe feet with a low or (in some cases) absent arch.
If your child has flat feet, there's some good news - It is completely normal for your Child's feet to appear flat up until the age of 5 or 6.
There are 2 main reasons this is the case:
- Infants have a fat pad which covers the arch of their feet.
- They also have loose joints in their feet
1 in 5 children do not develop an arch, however this can be completely normal and asymptomatic for most of their day to day activities.
